Evidence-grounded · human-paced
For individuals & families
MotLearn is for anyone who wants to understand clients, customers, co-workers, or loved ones with more skill and less steamrolling—whether that shows up at work, at home, or in the community. You get the same rigor that backs professional MI training, delivered as MotLearn Labs: not tied to any one private counselling practice.
MINT & Motivational Interviewing
MotLearn workshops are led by trainers who are members of MINT—the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers—the international community that promotes high-quality MI practice, training, and ongoing learning. If you are new to the acronym, think of MINT as the home base where serious MI trainers compare notes and keep the spirit of MI honest.
Values-centered MI
Our live training is grounded in a values-centered, autonomy-protective way of practicing MI: partnership, acceptance, compassion, and empowerment stay at the center. Ambivalence is treated as tension between legitimate values—with curiosity about what behaviour may be trying to protect, not judgment about whether someone is “ready enough.”
Invitation to Change
Some MotLearn facilitators are trained in the Invitation to Change Approach at Level 1. Developed by CMC:Foundation for Change, ITC blends compassion-focused, evidence-informed strategies for families and helpers supporting someone with substance use concerns. Learn more on the CMC:FFC website; for public trainings, see the Invitation to Change trainings listing.
